Heavys aren’t capitalizing on their deal with Aerosmith — or are they?

Aerosmith just announced their deal with Heavy, “the world’s first audio company engineered specifically for Rock & Heavy music”, as they describe themselves. Apparently, their products are special, as they “make headphones, earbuds, and gear for the people who treat music as identity — not background noise”.

So what is the whole collaboration about? Nothing much, really. They took a regular pair of their headphones and slapped a plastic shell with the Aerosmith logo on each side.

I think a lot of work went into this deal, and the people running the website made a joke of it. First of all, the images above are copied from the Heavys website, no editing was done. You’ll notice huge PNG files with a total of 800KB, about 3-4 times larger than they should be.

That also goes for the image of the band, a PNG file of over 600KB!

And there’s more. The image of the band was uploaded with the filename Screenshot_2026-06-11_at_22.04.11. Is that how the website for ‘the world’s first audio company blah blah’ should be run? Check out the original link below:

Finally, something I found really funny was the price of these shells. I live in Romania, and when I first clicked the link, the price was the equivalent of about $41.27 (“Duties & Tax are INCLUDED in this price”). A couple of hours later, I reloaded the page and… the price has dropped to $38.02! Pretty early in the product’s lifetime for such a hefty discount, don’t you think? 🙂

Anyway, I’m glad the guys are getting paid, hopefully they got their share upfront. And good luck to Heavys, they sure need it to sell these 40-dollar coasters.
