Aerosmith’s team posted the Official Lyric Video for “Dream On” on their Youtube channel today. But the lyrics are different to the ones that Steven Tyler had on stage.
I was fortunate to be very close to the stage for Steven Tyler’s concert with The Loving Mary Band in Rome, Italy, in 2018. And it was the perfect chance to do something I’d wanted to do for decades: record the lyrics that come up on the prompter.
Throughout the years, I collected different official and unofficial Aerosmith-related stuff. And I was baffled by how different the lyrics were from one official product to another. I’m a perfectionist, so I wanted to see what the actual lyrics are for one of my favorite songs of all time – “Dream On”. And it can’t get more official than Steven Tyler’s prompter, I reckon.

I cannot for the life of me understand how these things happen. It’s not a complicated song, like “Joanie’s Butterfly” or even “Downtown Charlie”, so what gives?
This kind of stuff shows a total lack of respect for the band.
